A couple of us are trying out the WoW expansion and have Alliance characters on the Kel' Thuzad server. Right now we are level 20, but that only took us two nights. Feel free to join us!

Have you played the previous expansions? If so how is it comparing? I'm pretty sure it's like a whole different game.

I only played up to WotLK and after that I played on some decent private servers, vanilla (pre expansions) and a TBC server which was awesome.

It is a very different game. Some of the skills have changed, the talent system has changed, most of the zones have changed.... it's just different.

I tried to log into my old Blizzard account. It took me forever. I just didn't have the right password or correct second pet's name.
Finally, I found my retail box and got a password reset by inputting the serial key.
I get in and check out my account only to find out that it is locked and banned. I'm like WTF, I haven't been on my WoW account since the middle of 2010.
I opened a support ticket with Blizzard, and explained the issue, over a day ago and have yet to hear anything.

Anyone have any ideas?


Oops.. forgot to add that I have never done anything to get into any trouble with my Blizzard account.

Not really. It can take them awhile sometimes. Since the account has been closed for a long time who knows what's going on.

Mine was hacked a long time ago and I just left it alone and it was "frozen" when I logged into battle.net the other day. I got into chat support with someone (took like 45 minutes) and they unlocked the account, 20 minutes later I was able to get in.

I think Sili is the only one with the expansion at this point. Otherwise you get everything up to and including the Pandaria expansion for the standard edition.

Yes. And they look waaay better.
It's kind of sad because the old armor models and such still have old textures. The fidelity different is very noticeable between old and new.

For what it's worth, my Config.wtf file doesn't mention a realmList at all. Here are the relevant lines:

SET portal "US"
SET textLocale "enUS"
SET audioLocale "enUS"
SET agentUID "wow_enus"
SET realmName "Kel'Thuzad"

Also... I bought this game when it was released. I opened battle.net, clicked on "World of Warcraft" and it just gave me an Install button. Haven't had my discs for years and didn't need them. So... maybe you don't need your discs to install anyway?

Yeah, I was able to get it installed fine. I just have the realm list issue so I put in a support ticket and will tinker more with it tonight.

It's in the Config.wtf file. Basically changed the EU or GB to US.
